Eid is a time for celebration, family gatherings, and, of course, delicious food! One of the best ways to bring authentic Middle Eastern flavors to your Eid feast is with Kofta Kebabs—juicy, spiced ground beef skewers that are grilled or pan-cooked to perfection. Serve them with warm pita, tahini sauce, and a refreshing salad for a complete festive meal.

Ingredients

For 4 Serves

For the Kofta Kebabs:

  • 500g ground beef (80/20 fat ratio for juiciness)

  • ½ cup fresh parsley (finely chopped)

  • 1 tsp ground cumin

  • 1 tsp ground coriander

  • ½ tsp cinnamon (for authentic depth of flavor)

  • ½ tsp smoked paprika

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • 1 tsp salt

  • ½ tsp red chili flakes (optional for spice)

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

For Serving:

  • Pita bread or flatbread

  • Hummus or tahini sauce

  • Pickles and olives

Step 1

Prepare the Kofta Mixture

  • In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, grated onion, garlic, parsley, and all the spices.

  • Mix well with your hands until everything is evenly combined.

  • Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors meld.

Step 2

Shape the Kebabs

  • Take a small portion of the mixture and shape it into an oval or cylindrical kebab shape.

  • If using skewers, mold the meat around metal or soaked wooden skewers.

Step 3

  • Grill Method: Preheat the grill to medium-high heat and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side until browned and cooked through.

  • Pan-Fry Method: Heat a little oil in a pan over medium heat and cook the kofta, turning occasionally, for about 10 minutes until fully cooked.

Step 4

Serve & Enjoy!

  • Serve hot with pita bread, tahini sauce, and fresh vegetables for a perfect Middle Eastern Eid feast.

Pro Tips for Perfect Kofta:

  • If grilling, make sure the grill is well-oiled to prevent sticking.

  • For extra flavor, brush the kofta with olive oil while cooking.

  • You can also bake them at 200°C (400°F) for 15-18 minutes if you prefer an oven method.

This dish is simple, delicious, and packed with authentic Middle Eastern flavors—the perfect addition to your Eid celebration. Try it out and let me know how it turns out! Eid Mubarak! 🌙✨
